New Delhi: In a significant step toward repairing strained diplomatic ties, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Canada Foreign Minister Anita Anand in New Delhi on October 13, where the two nations agreed on a New Roadmap for India–Canada relations.
The meeting followed the guidance given by Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Justin Trudeau during their interaction at the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada, to restore stability and mutual trust in bilateral relations.
Jaishankar said the talks were “constructive and forward-looking”, focused on reinvigorating cooperation mechanisms and advancing a partnership based on shared democratic values.
“We agreed on an ambitious cooperation roadmap to rebuild our cooperation so that it delivers on the expectations of our leaders and our people,” Jaishankar posted on X.

4. Ministerial-Level Trade Talks to Resume

5. Canada–India CEO Forum to Reopen
The two nations will resume the Canada–India CEO Forum to bring together top business leaders from both countries. India and Canada agreed to enhance cooperation on counter-terrorism, intelligence sharing, and cybersecurity, emphasizing their shared commitment to combat global threats that undermine peace and stability.

Both sides stressed the importance of mutual respect and communication in addressing sensitive bilateral issues. Officials agreed to avoid public confrontation and focus instead on diplomatic dialogue to rebuild trust and prevent further diplomatic rifts.
